Jeremiah Saint Surin, 19, was killed when his motorcycle collided with an SUV the intersection of West Jersey Avenue and Cates Road in Egg Harbor Township around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, June 1, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
The lawsuit filed by Lisa Saint Surin against Rahn in Atlantic County Superior Court on Oct. 11 says the other driver, Germain Rahn, was heading north on Cates Road and pulled out from a stop sign "without the proper clearance or right of way, proceeding through the intersection with West Jersey Avenue and violently striking the Plaintiff Decedent."
Rahn, who was operating a Ford Explorer, was cited for disregarding a stop sign/yield sign in the crash, records show.
Lisa Saint Surin is suing for damages and court-related fees.
As a child, Saint Surin "thrived" as a member of the Hamilton Knights Football organization "where he strengthened his athletic abilities and formed long-lasting relationships," his obituary on the Jennings Funeral Home website says.
He graduated Oakcrest High School in 2023 and "continued to show his prowess on the track and football teams. A car enthusiast, he could immediately spot and identify his favorite cars followed by an outpouring of facts. Jeremiah put so much time, effort, and love into rebuilding his Mustang."
A GoFundMe launched following his death raised more than $12,000.
